Welcome to 2009! It’s been a great year for me so far, I got home around 4:30 this morning, slept in until 12:30 and woke up with barely a trace of a hangover! Life is good, and there is much to love!
* Catching up with friends - Last night’s excellent New Years party was a great night for catching up with people I haven’t seen in a while. Always a good thing!
* Staying in hotels - On the way from Kent to Loughborough we stayed for a night in a really lovely hotel even though it was only half an hour’s more drive, and had an absolutely delicious three-course dinner. Sometimes staying in a hotel for no reason other than the fun of it is fabulous!
* Diaries and Calendars – filling in all the important dates for the coming year is a central part of my own personal New Years celebrations.
* Being full of plans – I love the feeling of potential that comes with a brand new year and a new set of goals. Although I try to subscribe to the idea that every day is a clean slate if you want it to be, it just feels so much easier and more “right” to wipe the slate clean and start with fresh goals at the beginning of the year.
* Sleeping - My New Years Day lie-in was amazing, I’m starting to realise I probably don’t get nearly as much sleep as I should, something else to work towards this year.
* Doing my makeup “properly” – Actually taking time and care over it makes so much difference, I just wish I had an hour to get ready every morning!
* Coca-Cola in Glass Bottles - It really *does* taste nicer!
* The fact that my housemate got a train set for Christmas – Call me a geek if you like, but I can’t wait until he gets it up and running so I can play!
* Being able to take paid holiday again! – I was only on a part-time contract last year, so even though I was working full-time for much of it, I had about a third of the paid holiday everyone else did and used most of it up during my summer exams. This year I have the full amount, so I don’t have to worry about not being paid when I’m ill and I can get paid leave for work experience.
* All of You – For making 2008 a great year! xx
Happy New Year’s Thursday! What’s made your New Years particularly fabulous this year?

Coca Cola in a glass bottle? Yum. It’s so prettiful and it doesn’t taste as “gassy” if that makes sense. And sleep? Been doing plenty of that.
Love your TiLT for this week
There is nothing quite like Coke from a glass bottle! I totally agree with you about the new year goal thing too – I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I love to start with a clean slate and the beginning of a new year is a perfect way to mark this.
Irrelevant to post, but I was considering getting a ‘real blog’, and was wondering which ad company you use, and why you chose them…
I’m totally with you when it comes to loving diaries, plans and sleep!
And here are some of the other things that I love at the moment:

I LOVE staying in hotels– there is something so luxurious about it!
Your list is so great… I wish I had that extra hour each morning for make-up and hairstyling!
Here I thought I was the only one who thought that Coke tasted better out of a glass bottle.
