Things I Love Thursday

Despite the possibility that the universe is messing with us all, this week has been quite good when I haven’t been falling asleep at my desk! Here’s some of the things that made it great!

* Eating better – fresh salad vegetables, couscous and grilled chicken or soup for lunches, with baked potatoes, fish pie and home-made low fat curries for dinners, this week I’ve been trying to cut down on my red meat consumption and eat more fruit and vegetables. Delicious, and I feel really good about eating it!

* My Mslexia diary – Although a simple spiral-bound plastic-covered book instead of the thing of joy that is the Moleskine, if you’re an aspiring writer in the UK I urge you to think about purchasing one of these. There’s loads of room for your own notes, inspiring quotations from published authors and the closing dates for lots of prestigious writing competitions. It’s a great tool, and will be accompanying me everywhere from now on!

* Re-watching great TV – Series one of Spooks (I’m just a tiny little bit obsessed), old episodes of House and all of Dead Like Me before we can get hold of the new movie, some series’ are just as great the second time!

* This cat:

* Hot chocolate made with full-fat milk and real chocolate – I know it’s bad for me, but it’s so damn good!

* Geeks – my other half has built us a media centre and it’s awesome! I’m not sure what to make of Windows 7 yet (we’re testing it on the media centre) but once we buy a blu-ray drive it’s going to be brilliant, and I can finally have my DVD player back.

* Twitter – I’m so ridiculously addicted now, I sit at work and read peoples’ tweets as they arrive, it keeps me going when I’m bored, even if I’m not posting any of my own!

Share the love! What’s brightened up your week?

xx
