Things I Love Thursday

Good morning! Another week is drawing to a close and my live couldn’t be busier right now. My course took up the entire weekend and this week I’ve been preparing for my week of work experience starting on Monday. I’ve lined up a couple of posts to keep things ticking over here, and I will try my best to find time for a TiLT next week too, though my Internet access will be limited to what little time I’ll have in the evenings (I believe my mother has made various plans).

This week has sparkled because of:

* Snow! – Yes, I’m aware that Britain has gone pretty crazy over not really that much snow compared to other parts of the world, but it’s special and magical to us, and I love it! Walking to the bus stop for the last couple of mornings has been… slow and hazardous (the footpaths around where I live are covered in sheets of ice) but snow is pretty, fun and better than rain!

* Adventures in Birmingham – great shopping, trying to find a restaurant and walking in completely the wrong direction in the freezing cold (cue much hilarity), great conversations over excellent food and interesting topics of study. I’m still loving this course!

*Red lipstick – after much deliberation (and being totally unable to find the Selfridges cosmetics department from within the store itself) I bought myself M.A.C.’s Ramblas Red, I was a bit unsure at first, since it’s totally different to most colours I’ve worn before, but I’m glad I bought it!

* Sorting out work-wear - My office doesn’t really have a dress-code, but for my work experience next week I’m going to have to wear a suit, and I must confess, I really enjoy getting dressed up for the office! I’m sure I’d probably get bored of it pretty quickly if I had to do it every day, but for now I’m loving working out how to accessorise it!

* More fabulous post – I was a runner-up in a contest run by the amazingly talented Amelia of Destroyx.com and received a great parcel containing a tote bag with a great Angelspit design, badges and a postcard. If you’re a fan of industrial, give them a listen, you won’t be disappointed! Some seriously great music and if I’m ever in the vicinity when they’re playing, I’ll be there!

* Getting your gift parcels assembled – they’ll be a while yet unfortunately, as I won’t have much time next week, but I’m really enjoying gathering things for the winners of my competition – it’s fun guessing what people will like by the lists they posted!

* New Shoes - This requires much celebration for me, I found a pair of smart, flat shoes in a normal shoe shop for a reasonable price that fit me! Trust me, if you had feet as narrow as mine you’d celebrate too!

* Things that smell nice – perfume samples, fresh washing drying on radiators, great cooking, fragrant tea, I love it when the house is filled with fabulous aromas!
