Back to reality again! I won’t lie, I long to be back doing interesting work, but it hasn’t been too hard a week. Despite my complete inability to build up the motivation to get out of bed in the morning at a reasonable hour, I’ve had quite a bit of energy this week – I’m hoping that this will continue as I have a log of work to do in the next few weeks, both in the “real world” and on this blog.
This week has been made a little sparklier thanks to:
* My new desk chair – It’s just a plain old blue office chair, bought from a second-hand shop that had lots of them from a business that had recently closed, but it’s amazing the difference being comfortable at my PC has made. I’m finding typing, watching movies and everything so much easier!
* Catching up on my Google Reader - I returned home to over 700 posts (I really don’t know how you ladies and gents who have that many per day manage!) and a good deal of my time was taken up reading them. I didn’t leave many comments, as I was in a hurry to get up to date, but there was some great writing in the blogosphere this week.
* Fruit-based snacks marketed to 4 year-olds – I went shopping for healthy things to nibble on whilst at work, so I’m not tempted by chocolate and other such fattening delights. I intended to buy fruit, but instead returned home with strawberry and pear fruit winders, strawberry juice jelly laces and dried sweet cherries also packaged for children. I can’t help it, kids get the best snack foods!
* Televisual Entertainment - Skins, Being Human, the pilot of Dollhouse and Lost (yes, I’m one of those weirdos who still watches it) have kept me thoroughly amused this week!
* Adding new books to my “To read” list – although it’s frustrating not being able to read them all at once, it’s also nice to have the potential there – to know that I’m not going to run out of exciting books to read any time soon!
* Being Lazy – I’ve spent much of the week watching TV, eating, going to bed early and generally relaxing. I possibly should not have done so quite so much, since I have mock exams this week (they’re posted to me at home, but I must do them under “exam conditions” for them to be useful to me) and I should be revising, but I needed the break.
* Websites that make me laugh - My latest favourite is “Not Always Right“, as linked to by Stephen Fry on Twitter, I know this should probably go in my roundup not TiLT, but it’s really made my week sparkle reading about all the customer complaints and stupidity. It makes me feel a little better about my own customers in the day job!
* Early Nights – Sometimes there’s nothing nicer than lying warm in bed just relaxing.
* Cadburys Creme Eggs – Easter’s… not really what you’d call on the way just yet, but my favourite seasonal chocolate is already in the shops and I’ve found it hard to resist buying a couple whenever I’ve been shopping.
What”s added a little glitter to your days this week?

aw, children’s snack foods! that is so sweet!
I’ve started watching Skins again, it’s awesome
“Things I Love Thursday” ~ What a cool idea!! I love getting up in the morning and facing the beautiful day ~ just grateful for life!
Just wanted to let you know – I’ve now moved to my own website, http://www.halfaccidental.com. If you could update it in your links that would be lovely!
thanks xo
Ooooh, I had a really boring and thus frustrating job. I finally had enough and just quit. I decided I needed to devote my time to finding something I actually wanted to do. But the bottom dropped out of the economy right after I quit! My search has turned out to be a lot longer than I anticipated. argh. But it’s cool. I’ve had more time to write about beauty on The Coveted and am keeping the faith.
Thanks for the tip on the bizarre customer experiences. I’ve worked with those customers. They are nuts.
