I’m making a few changes to the layout and information pages of this blog over the next few days, many of them being altarations I’ve been meaning to do since the reader survey. If you have any input, if you’re pleased something’s gone, think something was better before, or things stop working in your browser, please let me know!
Major changes being made so far:
- Information on the pages (tabs) being updated
- Blogroll removed from sidebar and given a page instead (categories and formatting to be added)
- Tag cloud removed and replaced with post category drop-down list
- Sidebar ads, widgets etc. moved around
I’m also considering looking around for a more exciting theme, or even learning CSS properly so I can design my own, but this probably won’t transpire for a good while yet as I still quite like this one!

I like the header! But the “secret society of list addicts” button is covering part of this comment box, so I can’t see that what I’ve written is free from typos (not that I always notice, of course, but it’s a bit disconcerting not to be able to see it!).
Oooh multiple headers!
And the list society button seems to only affect the first comment/commenter. So I still can’t read my previous comment, but the button isn’t covering this comment. Weird.
Sorry for multiple comments, but I forgot to say I’m using firefox on a mac, if that’s any help!
Ooh thanks for that! I’m at work at the moment on ie and it works fine, so I’ll see if I can sort it out tonight at home where I have Firefox!
I like how it’s looking. Cleaner and fresher, before it was extremely cluttered. (I also have an issue with the button as mentioned above, I’m on Firefox in a PC).
Good luck with the changes! Do you use wordpress? I’ve tried learning CSS too but it’s quite daunting.
@ Julie – good to know, I only have a PC at home so I should be able to sort it quickly if it’s affecting Macs and PCs alike. I usually use Opera and Chrome, I only use Firefox for multimedia so I missed it!
@ Dollface – Yep it is indeed WordPress. I find CSS quite daunting too, I had to learn a bit at uni and just about scraped by!
loving the changes! I have the button issue going on with me too but it seems like you’re already planning to fix it =) otherwise everything looks great!
It should look right now, thanks again for pointing it out!
Button appears to be in normal place (and OCD Claire can check her message)!
If you want to be able to customise your theme more, try Atahualpa. I use it, as does emilyabigail.com, and look how different our websites are!
Thanks for that Poppy, I am actually running Atahualpa, I just didn’t realise it was *that* customisable! I just installed it, made a few different headers then stopped reading, heh. I’ll have to take a good look at the documentation and have a play around!
