Sorry for the lack of updates this week – my drafts folder full of half-finished posts remains half-finished as once again, real life is getting in the way. This is therefore a post of two parts, the usual Things I Love Thursday celebration of all things positive (albeit a little brief this week) and then a quick whinge about everything that’s taking over my life right now!
First though, the good:
* Working Things Out- I have managed to resolve a few worries that have been playing on my mind of late, mostly practical things that required practical solutions, and it feels good to have them sorted out.
* Getting Nice Things Through The Post- My bento box arrived! After my next big grocery shop (probably Monday evening) I intend to start using it properly and may well make a lunch-related photo post! I also received a pair of boots that were an amazing eBay bargain and more energy shots to try!
* Movies and Crepes- Loughborough cinema contains a crepe cafe (that looks like it should be run by Hello Kitty – it’s all pink and amazing!) and one of my favourite ways to spend an evening is to have an amazing crepe and see a film. Last night I had a caramel strawberry cheesecake crepe (it contained whole squished slices of cheesecake!), a green tea frappe and saw District 9.
* Lots of Derren Brown – He appears to be all over the TV at the moment and I think he’s absolutely brilliant! I’m totally fascinated by all the amazing ways he manages to manipulate peoples’ minds!
* Other – Vitamin Water, planning a housewarming before we’ve even found a flat, wearing scarves, over-analysing movies and TV shows, managing to control my stress levels (with the help of hot chocolate), wondering why I didn’t watch Angel the first time around – it’s way better than Buffy!
As for the things that have kept me away from blogging, I’m entering into yet another massively busy time, but this time I intend to be a little more organised about it and prepare posts in advance whenever I can. This may mean I’m rather slow in replying to comments, so apologies for that, rest assured I read them all and really appreciate them!
* Flat / House-hunting – It’s the bane of my life! We had 4 viewings scheduled yesterday and I took an afternoon off work for them. Yesterday morning we received a call saying three of them had already been let and the fourth had to be re-scheduled. That fourth one has now been let too. We have more viewings scheduled for Saturday, but at the moment we’re thanking our lucky stars we started looking early!
* Uni Work – The time has also come for me to really knuckle down and get on with my preparation work for year two, so I am devoting a lot of time to study at the moment. A workable schedule does seem to slowly be emerging however, so I hope that soon I will have a designated time for doing things that works well and affords me free time too!
What’s made your week sparkle?

Oh neat! I’ve wanted to buy a bento box before, but I didn’t think I’d actually put forth the effort to make a bento lunch.
New classes, being back in my apartment, feta cheese and black olives, and sunny weather has made my week sparkle =]
I love Derren Brown. He is absolutely amazing.
Good Luck with all your uni work.
@ Jackie – I must admit, so far I’ve been too lazy to use it, but that will change once I make the first one, I have faith!
Thanks Sherin
