gala deletes EVERYTHING!! I commented on her blog today on her alexander mcqueen article because she copied big parts of it from ontd and nymag (the entire article in fact not just the qoutes) and she not only deleted my comment but she banned my ip address!! it’s bad enough to steal another person’s article, but why delete the criticsizm? why not just credit the real source of the writing? gala is a joke.

Gala Darling deleted her Lime Crime review?

The world of lady bloggers is chalk full of politics.

I’ve been following this whole thing very closely. It’s been like a soap opera. Very entertaining! (Especially that article in the Examiner- whew.)

I’ve made blog posts praising Lime Crime. I’m not going to delete them, but I probably won’t write any more, either. I’m with Mermaid– I’m going to keep my distance with this whole thing.

WOW!! Who knew! I love makeup, but generally i just stick to the designer brands because I dont have time to sift through all of that stuff – I do love reading a good quality internet hanging though. You really never do know what to believe with this stuff, and the above poster is correct – The squeaky wheel gets the grease. That is, the ones who have been “burned” are going to yell out about it and those that walked away happy will do just that.

I’m finding it quite hard to decide what to believe I must admit – the complaints about her customer service sound legit enough, but the part of me that really enjoys her blog keeps sticking up for her, rationalising that the complaints could be in a very small minority. I’m sort of relieved I wasn’t thinking of making any orders in the near future. I’d be more worried if I was intending to make purchases soon, but as it is, I think it’s probably still a minority that have complaints, just a very vocal one.

@ Jesi – Try reading the rest of the blog then She’s only mentioned here because someone found the blog by googling “Gala Darling deleted lime crime review” and the purpose of this post was to give people who’d googled that and similar something to read and find other information from. Thank you *so* much for the well-informed constructive criticism though xx

Ooo I love me some dramaz. The first I’d heard of the controversy was Xenia’s video rebutting the claims. When I watched it I was shocked and upset for her.
Now that I’ve followed your links, and links from those pages I don’t feel so sympathetic. Looks like most people that have dealt with her find her rude, scheming, and holier than thou. And now I know where to get a shit load of highly pigmented eyeshadow for cheap. Woop.

Hmmm – that does seem odd? I think I read on Gala’s Twitter once that her and Doe Deere are actually friends, but at the same time, I know she was receiving a lot of nasty comments on that post (from anti-Doe Deere types) so I’m not sure that I can blame her for wanting to delete it – although, maybe she could have just closed the comments? Who knows!

Thanks for posting the links.. it’s a both interesting and sad topic at the same time. I always adored the look of the Lime Crime make-up and wanted to purchase some, but some of those comments on those articles definitely allude to something a bit shady..
