Whew! What a week! I’m totally caught up in the pre-Xmas craziness right now, rushing around buying last-minute presents, panicking about missing parcels and generally being hopelessly disorganised as I tend to be every year! This time next week will be Xmas Eve and I still have so much to do!
Even so, this week has been far sparklier thanks to:
* The Smell of Xmas- Cinnamon and cloves, mulled wine, spiced apples, mmm delicious! I love it when all the shops fill the air with the scent of warm spices and general seasonal yummyness!
* The X-Factor Final – No, I didn’t love the final itself, I love the fact that it’s over! Maybe now my colleagues will stop talking about it!
* Shopping Malls- Specifically the two, still relatively new Westfield centres in Derby and Leicester. Aah the great temples of consumerism! In weather like we’re having I really appreciate being able to do all my Xmas shopping, eat, and catch a film without having to set foot outside.
* Scarves – In particular, those of the brightly-coloured variety! Today’s is bright purple and keeping me warm in the office as there’s quite a draft coming through the totally useless windows.
* Single Malt Whisky – (Yes, this probably makes me an old man). A small glass whilst watching TV both warms me up a little and makes me nice and drowsy, ready for bed. It’s one of my favourite winter treats!
* Old Friends – Making plans to see people I went to school with, and other friends I haven’t seen in ages. This Xmas break looks like it’s going to be really great!
* Other- Resolution planning, garlic-stuffed olives, my TKB order that finally arrived – I’ll post about it when I’ve had a bit of a play, drinking loads of water, listening to 80′s Synthpop and dancing around my room, hot chocolate, more experiments with green make-up, ticking things off my currently massive to-do list, unexpectedly great phone calls, lollipops, watching people get more and more excited the closer it gets to Xmas, feeling presents to try and guess what they are!
What’s making your week sparkle?

thanks so much for your comment! your blog is so so cute!
shopping malls? could be the ‘thing i dislike the most in the whole world’! hehehe
I find them loud and irritating places to be most of the time, but when I have to shop and it’s horrible outside, having all the shops in one, covered and heated building is a godsend!
