So, back at the beginning of 2009, myself and many other bloggers resolved to make it “our year”. I set goals about starting a new job, getting published, specific goals that due to various factors, many beyond my control (such as the utterly terrible employment market) I’ve been unable to achieve. For the most part however, I’ve stayed optimistic, happy and feeling good about my decisions, which is all that matters in the end, but it’s always disappointing to set goals and to get to the “deadline” so to speak, to find that they haven’t come to pass.
To that end, my only goal for 2009 is to make my life, and the lives of others, better. No specifics, only ideas: to try and take every opportunity that presents itself to me, to keep my surroundings tidier and clutter-free, to give to charity, to volunteer, to lose some weight, to keep on searching for that elusive new job, to get healthier, to help and encourage others who are trying to improve their lives, to laugh more, to write (and blog!) more, to take more “me” time, to work harder, etc. However I do it, I want to make every month, week and day a little better than 2009, any way that I can.
Did you manage to keep your goals for last year? Have you set any goals or resolutions for 2010?

That sounds like a good plan! Good luck.
2009 was such a downer for so many people, it makes me feel really bad. It just didn’t go as planned at all.
I agree that sounds like a good goal. I also need to write and blog more for fun (I do it for work, which kind of put me off writing for fun which is sad), as well as trying to help other people. I am also going to take more photographs, and keeping the flat tidy is something I’d really like to do!
I have many resolutions, 19 in fact! I had a lot last year too, but they were too general and without an actual plan. This is why this year I have many resolutions, because they are actually small goals.
No I didn’t achieve my resolutions for 2009.. I tried very hard though. THIS YEAR
Your resolutions sounds fab, also achievable, I’m sure you’re more then capable.
Happy New Year darlin’ x
I didn’t have any resolutions last year, just some general ideas of what I wanted to achieve, which I ended up not achieving.
This year, my resolution or whatever is similar to yours. It’s to have the happiest year possible. I’ve been spending a lot of time at http://www.happiness-project.com/ to help myself achieve that!
Happy New Year!
