I’ve had a tiring week, moving house was… ghastly, but I’m glad it’s all done now! It was nice to give back the keys to the old place and have it all finally over and done with! I still don’t have “proper” Internet at home, so posting may be a little limited for now, but the stress is over so I’ll be around a little more.
This week I love:
* My New Apartment – It’s slowly taking shape, bookcases are assembled, the kitchen cupboards and freezer are all stocked up (thank goodness – I was getting so fed up after four days of takeaways!) and much time has been spent watching the neighbourhood cats out of the living room window! It feels like home already, despite still being full of boxes!
* Election Fever - I rather enjoy a good political discussion and I’ll be glued to tonight’s debate. Though I’m not one to disclose who I’m voting for (though I will say definitely NOT Tory), it’s refreshing to hear people discussing something that actually matters over lunch, instead of just bitching about colleagues or dissecting what they watched on TV last night.
* Finding Stuff – Whilst packing and unpacking I’ve found so many things I thought I’d lost, or I simply forgot I had! Some of these will go to a charity shop, but there’s quite a few items of clothing that are gaining a new lease of life right now, after languishing in a box for over a year!
* Little Changes – That make a big difference! Living a little nearer the bus stop, having my bedroom and bathroom on the same floor, double glazing (ok, that’s a big change really), things like that are making my morning routine so much easier and more comfortable than it was at the old place!
* Reading for Pleasure – With the pressure off for at least a couple of weeks before I have to really get down to exam revision, I actually have time to read books for fun instead of for study! It’s great!
* Other – Strawberries for breakfast, Monster energy drinks – it really got us through the move, CoQ10 serum - my skin’s never felt better, drinking lots of water, Jensen’s gin and tonics, fajita dinner kits, reading livejournal on my phone, companies that let you change your address details Online instead of sitting in a phone queue, the blossoms on the tree outside the office, working out where everything will go in my study (w00! so much better than having a desk in the bedroom!), friendly corner shop owners, foodie inspiration courtesy of Jamie does Andalucia (Mmmm serrano ham and fresh tomato salad).
What’s making your life sparkle this week?

Oh, I can’t wait until I have time to read for pleasure!
