I find it hard enough to think of answers to Facebook memes which have actual questions, so thinking of 100 arbitrary facts about myself is going to be a challenge for me, which I’m hoping will also help me to discover new topics to write about. This idea is shamelessly stolen from various bloggers but I think I saw it first on Aimee Marie‘s blog. Read her 100 facts in parts one, two, three, four and five.
So without further ado, here are the first 20 facts about me:
1. My Spine is “S”-shaped and I have compromised lung function, in layman’s terms, I get tired and achey quickly and need to self-medicate with wine.
2. My taste in music would probably be best-described as “alternative” – I listen to a lot of metal, industrial, goth and indie…
3. … however I also like a touch of classical, opera, and Lady GaGa…
4. … I’m also obsessed with musical theatre.
5. I sang in school choirs all the way through from the age of 7 to 18.
6. I become totally absorbed in books quite quickly if they’re good. This has led to my name being yelled repeatedly in waiting rooms before I’ve heard it.
7. Spiders terrify me to the extent that I even squirm at dead ones, and have to get someone else to clean them up when they’re squished.
8. I’ve been spoilt by good coffee, I can’t drink instant at all now, even when I desperately need a pick-me-up.
9. My favourite world cuisine is Japanese, even though it is sadly devoid of cheese (which is my big “unhealthy” food weakness and which I eat far too much of).
10. I love good vodka, but find red Smirnoff utterly vile. My “go-to, everyday” vodka is Russian Standard. (I hasten to add, I do not drink vodka every day by any means!)
11. I have a strange obsession with fabric conditioner. I love the stuff, and probably use too much of it on my clothes, I searched for ages for a perfume that smells like it, and I even used to leave an open bottle on my desk when I lived in halls, so that it always smelled nice!
12. When I’m on my own in the flat I dance around and sing show tunes. I think the neighbours must hate me by now! Recently it’s been various songs from Les Misérables and Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.
13. I’m not superstitious.
14. I am definitely not a natural driver. I’m learning at the moment and finding it much harder than I expected to.
15. Even though I’m much “girlier” than I used to be, most of my good friends nowadays are male, whereas when I was younger I had far more female friends even though I was something of a “tomboy”.
16. Right now, I feel absolutely no compulsion to have children, I just can’t see myself as a mother at all.
17. Having said that I would like lots of cat children, but I can’t because I’m renting.
18. My first job was in a pharmacy, because of this I seem to have retained a lot of semi-useless information about prescription medication.
19. My favourite book of all time is To Kill A Mockingbird, clichéd I know, particularly since I aspire to practice Law.
20. I find writing about myself quite difficult, and at this point I have no idea how I’m going to think of 80 more facts to share!
